Retail

Know why you lost the sale, not just that you lost it.

Footfall to conversion, queue waits, unattended shoppers, trial-room crowding and store standards, measured on every store and rolled into one daily score a manager actually reads.

How does AI measure footfall and conversion in a retail store?

A camera at the entrance counts people entering, separating staff and groups from genuine shoppers. Cameras inside track which zones they visit and how long they stay, and cameras at the till measure queue length and wait. Comparing shoppers counted against invoices gives a conversion rate per store per day, without any manual counting.

What we watch for

Every step of the shopper’s journey, on the cameras already in the store.

Every check runs on the same edge device, so adding one is a configuration change, not a new project, and each site can run a different mix. Pick the ones that matter and switch the rest off.

Questions

Questions about retail.

Accurate enough to manage a store on. Counts are taken at the entrance line with staff excluded, and each store is tuned during setup for its camera angle and lighting. Where a store also shares sales data, conversion typically lands in the 5 to 30 percent band that retail expects, which is the check we use to confirm a store is counting correctly.

Yes. Staff are separated from shoppers so footfall and conversion are not inflated by your own team walking past the entrance, which is one of the most common errors in door-counter data.

One score for the store, the footfall trend against yesterday and last week, alerts by type, and the specific deductions that made today's score. It is written in plain language, not detection counts.

Not to start. Footfall, queues and compliance all work from cameras alone. Adding sales data lets us calculate conversion per store, which is worth doing once the counts are trusted.

No. Frames are processed on the edge device inside the store and discarded. Only counts and alert snapshots leave the premises, which is what keeps the deployment straightforward for IT and privacy review.
